Steam Weekly Top Sellers: February 24th, 2014

Logo-Steam Each week, gamers around the world log onto digital distribution platform Steam, to get their latest gaming fix, and every week, Player Attack lets you know which games were the most popular.

Well, it looks like the winds of change might be upon us. DayZ has been knocked from the top spot in a flurry of strategy, as newcomer Banished climbs to the top of the charts.

Released less than a week ago, Banished is a super-challenging city-builder, which does away with the idea of skill trees and embraces the idea of people being your greatest resource. It’s misleadingly simple and peaceful in its approach – little townsfolk wander happily, chopping down trees and fishing for dinner – until winter comes and their numbers dwindle in the cold. Finding the perfect balance is tricky, but hitting that note is endlessly rewarding.
