Batman: Arkham Origins will not be patched

Too bad if you were hoping to see some bugfixes for Batman: Arkham Origins – as developer Warner Bros. Montreal has said there is just one more fix in the pipeline. After that, the team is focussing all of its attentions on creating new DLC.

The news popped up on the game’s official forum, with fans calling for “Patch 1.06” to fix a number of issues. The response from community manager Mercury wasn’t quite what gamers were expecting.

The team is currently working hard on the upcoming story DLC and there currently are no plans for releasing another patch to address the issues that have been reported on the forums.

In another thread, Mercury reveals that there is actually one last bugfix in the works. PC development teams are still looking into the niggling issue where Deathstroke’s Quick Fire Neural Pellets and Quick Fire Proximity Bomb simply doesn’t work with the PC mouse/keyboard. The timing of this fix? “Still not determined,” says Mercury.

Once that bit’s out of the way, the studio has all-but ruled out any further patches, tweaks and bugfixes for Batman: Arkham Origins. If an update does happen to show up, Warner Bros has confirmed it will focus only on “progression blocking bugs” that stop people from finishing the game, rather than tidying up any annoying, cosmetic glitches.

Simply put:

The issues that are not progression blockers will unfortunately no longer be addressed.

Batman: Arkham Origins was one of 2013’s blockbuster releases, hitting PC, PS3, Wii U and Xbox 360 in October last year. This is the second bit of bad news for fans, with Wii U gamers already told they weren’t included in any future DLC plans.
