Remember Me studio denies bankruptcy reports

We were saddened to hear over the weekend that Dontnod Entertainment, the French studio behind last year’s Remember Me, had filed for bankruptcy. Today, however, it seems that’s not the case.

Company CEO Oskar Guilbert has told GamesIndustry that the whole thing is just a big misunderstanding.

There are some rumours about the bankruptcy of Dontnod. There is no bankruptcy, Dontnod is not in bankruptcy.

Instead, Guilbert explains, the company has appointed a Judicial Administrator to oversee proceedings while Dontnod “re-adapts its production pipeline” to work with a new project.

We started new projects and those new projects need some investment and we decided to resize the company in order to match these new needs. That’s why we needed judicial reorganisation.

One of Dontnod‘s new projects is currently in “close negotiations” with “one of the top publishers”, says Guilbert. Quite what that is, we don’t know yet… but here’s hoping we find out soon.
