Yaiba: Ninja Gaiden Z gets a delay and a comic

There’s good news and bad news for gamers looking forward to the release of Yaiba: Ninja Gaiden Z. Bad news: The game’s been delayed by two weeks. Good news: You’ll get a nifty three-part comic series alongside it.

The debut issue sees Yaiba himself telling the story of Miss Monday, and explaining how his sword became known as “Heartless”.

Team Ninja has teamed up with Dark Horse Comics to create the digital series, a three-part project providing backstory for the upcoming game. It’s set to launch on the same day as the game (March 20th in Australia/New Zealand), and it will be free to download, with a full-colour print comic in the works as well.

A quick recap for newcomers: Yaiba is a violent cyborg ninja, cut in half and put back together again with the help of modern technology. With his cyber arm and ninja sword, he’s facing off against a whole bunch of fierce zombies.

Yaiba: Ninja Gaiden Z is headed to PlayStation 3, Xbox 360 and PC from March 20th.
