It’s been 10 years since we first stepped into Albion, and the world of Fable has changed just a tad since then. Fable Anniversary is coming out next month, so it seems as good a time as any to reminisce.
This is the first time we’ve really had a chance to look at the upcoming HD remake, and while we knew what to expect, we’re still rather impressed. The original game still holds up fairly well, for a game designed for the original Xbox, but it’s nice to see the attention to detail being lavished upon this fan favourite.
Sure, the guys at Lionhead may have overdone the bloom a little bit, but the warm colours and extra depth make the world of Albion look a million bucks.
Fable Anniversary is an entirely revamped version of the 2004 original, complete with the extra content added in Fable: The Lost Chapters (which is what earned the game an R rating in Australia). It’ll be available as a standalone digital release for Xbox 360 next month, or if you’d prefer, snap up the complete trilogy for a discounted price. Neither Fable 2 or Fable 3 have been modified, but it’s nice to have them all in the same spot.
