Rockstar cracks down on GTA Online cheaters

Time’s up for a bunch of Grand Theft Auto Online gamers who have been exploiting the system for their own gains, generating and distributing “game-breaking amounts” of in-game cash. Rockstar has cracked down on the cheaters, and have removed the counterfeit money from the game’s economy.

Some of the cheating gamers will be banned completely from GTA Online, while others will be segregated to isolated cheater pools.

Keeping collateral damage to a minimum, anyone who “innocently received” the in-game funds but did not indulge in the cheating activity will still be able to keep any currently-owned items, but their wallets may be a little lighter.

Rockstar also takes this opportunity to ask for your help. If you happen to find someone in GTA Online who “appears to be taking advantage of exploits” in your game together, please use the in-game reporting functionality to let the developers know. Pause the game, head to the Online tab, select Players and scroll to the person who’s doing wrong. Then, select Report and choose Exploits from the Violation options, and you’re done!
