It’s becoming increasingly clear that we’re either shaping up for the reveal of Fallout 4, or the unearthing of a great hoax. Either way, the big announcement is not happening this weekend, with Bethesda stating publicly that the publisher is not showing anything off at this Saturday’s VGX event.
Pete Hines, Bethesda PR man, posted to Twitter that he was heading to Los Angeles this week. Rabid fans jumped on the news, prompting Hines’ simple response:
No, folks. I am not going to VGX. Bethesda is not showing/talking about anything at VGX. Just some PR meetings in LA. Take deep breaths.
Of course, it’s entirely possible that Hines is in on the grand plan and he is pulling the post-apocalyptic wool over our eyes, but we’re giving him the benefit of the doubt here.
(There’s another theory, which suggests Bethesda is not actually involved with Fallout 4, but that seems …unlikely.)
The countdown clock on thesurvivor2299.com never actually suggested anything would happen at this weekend’s VGX event (what’s that in my timezone?), but fans never let facts get in the way of a good theory.
