The Spike Video Game Awards (VGX) are being held this weekend, and it looks like Square Enix is getting ready for a big night. The publisher revealed today that it will be showing off two big games at the event, and both are “amazing”.
Karl Stewart, vice president of marketing for Europe and North America, updated his Twitter with the news:
Just reviewed the final cuts of both trailers we’re showing at next Saturdays Spike TV VGX. Amazing stuff from the teams as ever. Cant wait.
Obviously, Stewart’s not about to tell us what those two games are, but we’re making a couple of educated guesses.
One is probably Thief, the upcoming reboot from Eidos Montreal. The game was officially revealed in March of this year, expected to hit shelves in February 2014. We haven’t really heard much recently from the studio, so it’d be a good time for Garrett to make a comeback.
The other is – hopefully – a new reveal. A recent trademark registration suggests the existence of Tomb Raider: Reflections, which many hope is the name of the “next-gen sequel” we’ve been promised. Remember, we were told to “keep an eye on any major gaming events happening in early December” – and Spike’s VGX certainly fits the bill.
Tune in online: Saturday, December 7th at 6pm ET / 3pm PT (what’s that in my timezone?), and we’ll have details right here on Player Attack.
