GTA: San Andreas sets its sights on mobile

Get ready, gamers: Rockstar Games is shaping up for another big launch next month. Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas – the biggest GTA of the PS2 era – is making a comeback, and it’ll fit right in your pocket.

It’s time to grab your smartphone and head back to the early 90s with CJ, in this brand new mobile adaptation of the bestselling open world release. Expect newly remastered graphics, boasting dynamic, detailed shadows, an enriched colour palette and a greater draw distance plus enhanced models for both characters and cars, as you cruise around Los Santos, Las Venturas, San Fierro and everywhere inbetween. An important new addition? A reworked checkpoint system!

Plus, of course, the whole thing’s been rejigged to work with touch controls – and rather than forcing you to use the same mechanics all the way through, there are contextual control options that’ll show you buttons if and when you need them. Plus, three different control schemes make driving a breeze.

If you’re not the touch control type, don’t worry – Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas also comes with full controller support, so you should be able to play things your way on iOS, Android, Kindle and Windows Mobile devices when this one launches next month.
