It should come as no surprise that the next LEGO game from Warner Bros is, of course, based on the first two movies of The Hobbit. Drawing inspiration from both The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey and The Hobbit: The Desolation of Smaug, LEGO The Hobbit is headed our way in 2014.

Tom Stone, Managing Director at developer TT Games explains:
We are thrilled to depict the characters and environments of Peter Jackson’s Middle-earth in LEGO form with the LEGO The Hobbit videogame. Our family-friendly take on these thrilling adventures will have kids and parents playing and laughing together as they build and explore in LEGO Middle-earth.
The game puts you back in Middle-earth, as you visit key locations as part of the adventure towards the Dwarven Kingdom of Erebor. Solve puzzles, join in Treasure Quests, and battle with foul beasts. Playable characters include Bilbo Baggins, Gandalf the Grey, Thorin Oakenshield and all the members of the Dwarf troupe – Fíli, Kíli, Óin, Glóin, Dwalin, Balin, Bifur, Bofur, Bombur, Dori, Nori and Ori. Each character has his own special abilities – we’re told you can use Bombur as a trampoline, to help his companions “belly-bounce” out of danger.
LEGO The Hobbit is headed to – wait for it – PS3, PS4, Xbox One, Xbox 360, Vita, Wii U, PC, Mac and 3DS, some time in 2014. The Hobbit: The Desolation of Smaug hits cinemas from December 13.
