EA claims 33% of PS4 game sales

With new consoles popping up on shelves around the world, EA is making the lofty claims. Company COO Peter Moore has stepped up and said that one in three PlayStation 4 games sold to date in the United States has been made by EA.

Moore made the claim via Twitter:

Gamers are speaking…our week 1 estimates show that 1 of every 3 #PS4 games sold is an @EA game!

It might sound cocky, but mathematically speaking, it makes sense. While the publisher only had four boxed titles ready for day one – FIFA 14, Need for Speed Rivals, Battlefield 4 and Madden 25 – there were only eleven games on disc available for early adopters.

Digital-only games may muddy the waters somewhat, but if we assume Moore is only referring to physical copies, it’s a nice little statistic to have.
