The transition was virtually silent, save for a few updated entries on the Epic Careers page (they’re looking for people to work in art, programming, engineering and production roles) and a public statement released to PixelEnemy:
We’ve changed the studio’s name from People Can Fly to Epic Games Poland. We’re a global company with talented people working toward one goal across the world. We think this helps better reflect that.
In case you were wondering, the renamed studio is officially working on the publisher’s upcoming sandbox survival game Fortnite, alongside developers at Epic’s home base in North Carolina.
Epic picked up a majority share in People Can Fly in 2007, and acquired the rest in August last year, seemingly prompting the departure of three key employees. The rename brings it into line with both Epic Japan and Epic Korea, with mobile developer ChAIR Entertainment now the odd one out.
