After two years, Naughty Dog has officially announced it’s finished working on Uncharted 3. To celebrate, and to send off the project in its proper fashion, the studio has revealed one final update, which comes with a new multiplayer map for the game. As if that wasn’t enough, the studio is re-releasing all previous multiplayer maps for free.
The team at Naughty Dog enlisted the help of the “amazing” community to work out what needed to go into this final patch. The studio looked carefully at comments and forum posts, taking notes on what exactly gamers wanted to see. The most highly-sought after changes are the ones that made it into the game, in what’s described as an “epic” patch.
The new map – Dry Docks – is inspired by a single-player stage, and has been in the works for a while. It was included in the original game way back when, but was cut before the official release. Now, it’s been revamped and revitalised – and it’s yours, free!
But wait! There’s more! If your existence is currently map-less, and you’d like to rectify the situation, head to the Uncharted 3 in-game store. Pick up the Flashback Map Pack 1, Flashback 2 and Drake’s Deception Map Packs, for free!
There’s also some discount available on other multiplayer items – but be quick on those, they’re only on special until November 4th. The maps, and the action-packed update, will be free forever.
