Rod Fergusson, former producer on Gears of War and developer on BioShock Infinite, is now heading up his own studio for 2K Games. His first official act as Studio Head of the unnamed company? Ordering new scotch glasses for the office.
While Fergusson is happy to announce his plans for new glassware, he’s keeping remarkably quiet on what the studio is and what it will be doing from its base near San Francisco. He will, however, gloat a little on Twitter.
It’s official: I’m launching a new studio for 2K in the Bay Area with an exciting new project! Details soon!
A quick recap of Fergusson’s recent work history: He left a long-term job at Epic Games and headed to Irrational in August 2012, to wrap up work on BioShock Infinite. Then, once that was done – in April this year – Fergusson announced he was leaving Irrational and looking to the “next chapter” of his career.
It looks like this is it – even if we don’t quite know what “this” is, just yet.
