Forza Motorsport 5 shows off new roster

Forza Motorsport 5 looks stunning – and not just in the “beautiful, shiny cars” sort of way. Have you ever looked at a racecar after a race through the countryside? It’s covered in bugs and dirt, the paint chipped and damaged – and this is exactly what you’ll get in the new Forza. Today we see more than 20 new cars that are added to the roster, and I’m already planning which one of these will be smothered in tar and gravel.

While all 21 of these new vehicles are special in their own right, there are two that are particularly spotlighted. Take your time to gaze adoringly at the 2008 Mitsubishi Lancer Evo X GSR, presented here in red, because it goes faster. It’s got a 2-litre turbo-charged four cylinder engine – and Evo’s first aluminium block – which contributes beautifully to the all-wheel drive car reaching zero-to-60 in just 5 seconds.

The second? The 2002 Nissan Skyline GT-R V-Spec II (pictured below in silver), one of the last of the Skylines to use the traditional inline-six engines. That little duct on the bonnet makes this one visible from a distance – and the bonnet itself is made out of carbon fibre, part of the way Nissan has made the car stiffer and lighter.

If you’d prefer something different, here’s another 19 vehicles for you to choose from:

  • 2009 Zonda Cinque Roadster
  • 2012 Chrysler 300 SRT8
  • 2013 Ford Focus ST
