Want to know what’s on Player Attack this week? Well, here you go – a quick look at what you can expect from the next episode of Australia’s newest video games TV series!
This week, we’re back a little earlier than expected – we just couldn’t keep all this great news to ourselves!
First up: Chad Habel looks at Project Spark, an innovative new world-builder on the way from Microsoft. It’s been compared to titles like Minecraft and LittleBigPlanet, as it gives you the tools to create your own games.
Project Spark is a powerful, yet simple way to build and play your own worlds, stories, and games. Share all of your creations to a dynamic community, and play what the community makes. Project Spark brings creation to life and presents endless opportunities for play.
Onto something completely different, Plants vs. Zombies: Garden Warfare was a surprise reveal at this year’s E3. Nobody really expected PopCap to ever come up with a third-person shooter, but here it is, and it’s glorious.
Powered by the advanced Frostbite 3 engine, Plants vs. Zombies Garden Warfare delivers an explosive new action experience in a massive, three-dimensional world, blooming with color and combat. Featuring 4-player co-op, 24-player competitive modes and more, players will blast zombies, plants and new characters across a richly animated, mine-blowing PvZ landscape.
And finally, we’re sticking with the undead for a moment longer as we explore the world of Dying Light with Blazej from Techland. One of just a handful of games that brings a dynamic day-night cycle to the survival horror genre, this one also throws free-running or parkour into the mix, definitely making it one to watch out for.
During the day, players will traverse an expansive urban environment overrun by a vicious outbreak, scavenging the world for supplies and crafting weapons to defend against the growing infected population. At night, the hunter becomes the hunted, as the infected become aggressive and more dangerous. Most frightening are the predators which only appear after sundown. Players must use everything in their power to survive until the morning’s first light.
All that, plus the latest in gaming news and that awesome Steelseries competition!
