The original Just Dance is a pretty family-friendly game, but as contemporary lyrics get more and more explicit, it can be difficult to know which songs are going to be suitable for little Junior to get down and boogie to. That’s why Ubisoft created Just Dance Kids!
Boasting fresh choreography and an all new tracklist that’s more than appropriate for even the youngest of ears, Just Dance 2014 is actually the fourth game in the spin-off series. It’s headed to Xbox 360 (with Kinect, of course), as well as both Wii and Wii U.
Tony Key, senior vice president of sales and marketing at Ubisoft North America explains:
We’ve seen parents, teachers and families from around the world bring our Just Dance Kids games into their living rooms and classrooms over the past few years. We’re dedicated to making Just Dance Kids 2014 our best Kids dance game to date, with new music, dance moves and features to make the dance experience fun for the entire family.
…and that music lineup is something to be proud of, including more than a handful of tracks that grown-ups will appreciate, too:
- Hit The Lights by Selena Gomez & The Scene
- Give Your Heart A Break by Demi Lovato
- We Go Well Together by Goldheart
- One Thing by One Direction
- Put Your Hearts Up by Ariana Grande
- Make It Shine (Victorious Theme) by Victorious Cast featuring Victoria Justice
- Ready Or Not by Bridgit Mendler
- Get Ready To Wiggle by The Wiggles
- The Freeze Game by Yo Gabba Gabba!
- 7 8 9
- Day-O (The Banana Boat Song)
- Do You Love Me (Now That I Can Dance)
- Get Down On It
- Hit Me With Your Best Shot
- I Like To Move It
- Magic Carpet Ride
- Problem (Monster Remix)
- Fraggle Rock (Opening and Closing Theme)
- The Hustle
- The Tiki Tiki Tiki Room
- Walking On Sunshine
In addition to the tunes, there are a handful of new gameplay modes available too, depending on which platform you pick it up on.
The Just Create Mode is exclusively for Kinect, and works about the way you’d expect: Create your own choreography and routine, and star in your very own music video.
The Wii U gets Dance Director Mode, which sees one player acting as the dance leader! Pick and surprise players with new dance move suggestions via the Wii U GamePad, and get friends to show off their unique moves.
…and if you’d prefer to be a little more in control of what the kidlets are up to, just click over into Parents’ Corner – this offers fitness tracker, a non-stop shuffle mode and the ability to add custom playlists, so your kids can dance their hearts out, and you can check how many calories it took.
Headed to Xbox 360, Wii U and Wii in late October 2013, stay tuned for more on Just Dance Kids 2014!
