Is Andre the Giant in WWE2K14?

It looks like Andre the Giant will be a surprise inclusion on the WWE 2K14 roster. The news has not been officially confirmed by publisher 2K Games, developer Yuke’s or the WWE itself, but there’s more than a few breadcrumbs leading to that one, oversized conclusion.

At first, it required serious detective work to uncover the secret superstar: Copyright information on the official WWE 2K14 roster page included a little more than the standard boilerplate disclaimers.

The interesting thing is that last line there… and the fact that the entire copyright statement has now been rewritten, updating 2011 to 2013, switching all THQ references to 2K Games, and any mention of Andre The Giant has been removed.

This year’s roster already promises the return of some legendary superstars. If Andre is in the game, he’ll be joining classics like Macho Man Randy Savage and Ultimate Warrior, with eagle-eyed gamers also spotting Roddy Piper and Hulk Hogan shirts in the audience.

As we try to digest that – and wonder who else could join the legendary lineup, the official WWE Games Twitter is a big tease:

WWE 2K14

#BecomeImmortal tomorrow. Are you ready?

(Spoiler: That shoulder belongs to none other than Andre the Giant.)

In previous years, we’ve seen the WWE game roster announced as part of SummerSlam. This highlight of the WWE calendar is set to take over the Staples Center in Los Angeles this weekend, so we shouldn’t have to wait long for more details on Mr. The Giant.
