Game of Thrones Ascent splits from Zynga

Game of Thrones Ascent, the social game built upon the rich fantasy of George R.R. Martin’s books and the popular HBO series, has announced it is parting ways with distributor Zynga.

At this stage, there’s been no official statement offering a reason for the split, with developer Disruptor Beam breaking the news via Facebook.

As of August 1, 2013, Disruptor Beam is ending its distribution partnership with Zynga. Zynga has been a great partner and helped expose Game of Thrones Ascent to many thousands of gamers, and we have learned a lot from our partnership with them. We are grateful for their work and their help promoting Game of Thrones Ascent.

Game of Thrones Ascent was launched in May last year, but only inked the deal with Zynga in April 2013, as part of the Partners program.

Wasting no time, the developers quickly pushed out a new build for the game, to completely remove the Zynga ad bar and all other code relating to the former distributor. Within 20 minutes of the announcement being posted online, the new patch was live, and all traces of Zynga had gone from Westeros.
