Splinter Cell: Blacklist is promising not one, but two different versions of multiplayer mode “Spies vs Mercs”. We heard a bit about one of them – Classic – in our recent interview with Ubisoft Montreal, but now it’s time to look at the other, cleverly-titled Blacklist.
This is Blacklist level design director Geoff Ellenor walking Ubisoft‘s Zack Cooper through the new gameplay mode. This time around, it’s faster-paced, with (up to) 4v4 matches featuring different classes and different load-outs. Really, pretty much all the stuff you want in a contemporary multiplayer game – it’s here.
Of course, to keep you wanting more, Ubisoft has only published Part One of these videos so far, which shows Zack and Geoff pairing up to play as spies, as they attempt to keep a hacker safe from the mercs. They could have chosen to both play as mercs, or split up and take on one side each… we might see more of that in Part Two…
Tom Clancy’s Splinter Cell: Blacklist is due out for PC, Xbox 360 and PS3 from August 20th.
