North American vocaloid fans rejoice: Hatsune Miku Project Diva F is making its way to your shores on August 27, Sega has confirmed. This firms up the “August” release window we were given most recently, and – finally – means the aqua-haired songstress will have an official western release.
…if you’re in other parts of the world, like Europe or Australia, there’s not been any confirmation for those regions juuust yet. Sega is still saying “next month”, but whether that means something comparable to the 27th or something very different remains to be seen.
Pre-ordering Hatsune Miku Project Diva F at certain retailers will net you some cool stuff too, including a Snow Miku 2013 costume and a Miku-inspired theme for your PlayStation 3 XMB.
Disappointingly, rumours that Miku would be arriving on western Vita handhelds have been squashed – a mistakenly inclusive ESRB rating has since been corrected.
Hatsune Miku Project Diva F is the fifth title in the Project Diva series of Vocaloid games. It was shown off at E3 2012 as simply “Hatsune Miku“, gauging western interest in the game. The August 2013 western release follows just over 12 months after the Japanese street date of April 2012, but it’s still comfortably before the planned release of Hatsune Miku: Project Diva F 2nd, scheduled to hit Japan in spring 2014 for both PS3 and PlayStation Vita.
