American McGee takes Grimm to Greenlight

American McGee’s Grimm first launched five years ago, but if you haven’t yet checked out the fairy tale-inspired episodic adventure, there may still be hope. McGee himself has just pushed the game onto Steam Greenlight, so it’s up to you whether the game will get a new lease on life.

The debut title for McGee’s Spicy Horse studios, Grimm was originally released on GameTap as a series of weekly, half-hour episodes. There were three volumes in total, and 23 episodes to play through.

Currently, the only way to buy the game is to go through the Spicy Horse online portal SpicyWorld, but fans have been crying for an easier way.

Enter: Steam Greenlight – if the game is popular enough, it’ll be relaunched on both Mac and PC, via the popular digital distribution platform.

McGee is also currently running a crowdfunding project to secure the film rights for earlier game American McGee’s Alice. It currently stands at $130,000 pledged of its $200,000 goal, with six days to go.
