Battlefield 4 brings second screens to the frontline

Your Battlefield 4 experience will extend beyond the PC and console, if DICE has its way. Sure, you’ll still be able to jump into the action when you’re sitting in front of the screen, but you can also take bits and pieces of the experience away with you, thanks to Battlelog on your smartphone or tablet.

In Battlefield 3, Battlelog was simply a server browser, stats tracker and game launcher – that’s all changed for Battlefield 4, as this latest trailer shows:

Use your mobile device to get a better window on your game: A tactical view of the battlefield, a mini-map with highlighted attack points, a way to track your squad mates… all without losing sight of your game on your primary monitor.

The improved Battlelog will also allow you to more fluidly control your play sessions. Change your weapons and load outs in real time or select your next match and server without leaving your game. Want to check on your progression while you’re playing? You don’t have to pause or leave – just reach for your mobile.

Battlefield 4 is set to hit PC, Xbox 360 and PS3 on October 31st – and don’t worry, PS4 and Xbox One versions are following shortly after.
