Total Annihilation sequel becomes more possible

Wargaming has reunited Total Annihilation with creator Chris Taylor, as it picked up the franchise in a recent auction of Atari properties. It’s still (very) early days, but the stars do seem to be aligning for a sequel for the classic RTS.

Earlier this year, Wargaming acquired Taylor’s Gas Powered Games, but the studio has not been publicly working on anything.

At the time of the acquisition, Taylor commented:

Wargaming’s growth in recent years has been tremendous, and we’re looking forward to joining one of the fastest growing gaming companies in the world. I’m sure our experience and expertise will help us contribute even more to Wargaming’s global success.

The World of Tanks publisher also snagged the rights to Masters of Orion, while Rebellion picked up Battlezone and Stardock now owns Star Control.

Retro strategy fans are in for a treat, we’re keeping an eye out for any updates.
