While neither machine has hit retail just yet (both are looking at a “holiday 2013” release), pre-orders are setting new records all over the place. Last week, we confirmed that U.S. retailers are selling out of PS4 consoles – today it seems the Xbox One faces a similar fate.
Retailers including Amazon and GameStop have both stopped selling Xbox One Day One bundles (Watch_Dogs, Battlefield 4, Dead Rising 3, Forza 5 and Call of Duty: Ghosts plus a new console), but now GameStop has also put an end to pre-orders of the standard Xbox One Day One console.
When it made the same decision about the PlayStation 4, GameStop announced a wait-list system that would let you know when orders resume. Presumably, if you want an Xbox One, and you really want it from GameStop, the same applies – or else you could just go buy one somewhere else.
