Insomniac Games has gone back to its roots. The Fuse developer announced Sunset Overdrive, a new, neon-soaked future at E3, but today we’ve heard about a new project, something we’re a little more familiar with: Ratchet & Clank: Into the Nexus.
The team closed the book on the Ratchet & Clank Future saga when it completed A Crack in Time, and then revisited the dynamic duo for the co-op family experience of All 4 One. It’s now time to explore even more new types of play – but it’s also time to revisit the single-player Ratchet style we’ve known and loved for years.
So: Ratchet & Clank: Into the Nexus is an all-new original single-player epilogue to the Future games – get ready to revisit Ratchet’s own personal story arc.
Brian Allgeier – who we last spoke to about Fuse – has picked up the creative director hat for this one, reprising the role he had in A Crack in Time and Tools of Destruction. He’s promising a story-driven platform adventure, packed with the “humour and heart” that we’ve come to expect from the series.
…and the really interesting part about all this? Ratchet & Clank: Into the Nexus is due out this year – as a PlayStation 3 exclusive.
