It’s no secret that just about everyone is intrigued by Destiny. Whether you want a great shooter, an impressive sci-fi setting or an amazing storyline, Bungie has you covered. To celebrate Bungie Day over the weekend, the team also proved that the game will be a treat for the ears, releasing a snippet of the soundtrack for your listening pleasure.
Program Notes, from composer Marty O’Donnell:
Repeating patterns and signals enfold us day and night and in all ages.
Unmoved mover that moves all others.
Inclining from heaven towards the Seven.
New music heard so deeply that it is not heard at all.
Destiny was shown off on the Activision Blizzard “Ronut” (that’s a rotunda in the shape of a donut), with a 360-degree video introducing gamers to the new world created by Bungie. Most importantly, we were able to watch the arrival of the Traveler, planting the seeds of the Destiny story.
Destiny is due out for PS3, PS4, Xbox 360 and Xbox One some time in 2014, and the soundtrack is set to feature former Beatle Paul McCartney in some form – even though we haven’t heard anything new in that respect for 12 months.
