Most of us are dying to know more about Ubisoft‘s upcoming tactical shooter The Division, but none more so than Hideo Kojima. The Metal Gear Solid creator dropped in on the Ubisoft booth at E3 earlier this month and was very impressed by what he saw.
Speaking with Japanese site 4Gamer, translated by DualShockers, Kojima is overwhelmed with praise for the latest Tom Clancy shooter.
I thought [MGS5] received a good reaction, but after seeing Ubisoft’s The Division I felt I have to work harder.
At E3 we’re fighting against the powerhouses of the whole world. At one time I thought I managed to win that battle with Metal Gear Solid 3. For that reason we gave ourselves the objective to “win the world once more” with Metal Gear Solid V. The V in the title is the V for victory.

While Miyamoto has not commented publicly on the game, this is not the first time Kojima has expressed his adoration for Ubisoft titles – in Metal Gear Solid 4, gamers can unlock a new skin for Snake that will dress him up like a character from Assassin’s Creed.
Both The Division and Metal Gear Solid V were roundly praised at E3 2013 as great examples of true “next-gen” gaming. Both games are due out in 2014 for PS4 and Xbox One, with Metal Gear also arriving on PS3 and Xbox 360.
