It’s now been scientifically proven: Rocksmith really is the fastest way to learn guitar. A new study by the Research Strategy Group looked at hundreds of participants across the U.S. and confirmed what the developers have claimed since the beginning.
It’s not a one-off result, either: A consumer study by Toluna Group showed 95% of Rocksmith fans say the game improved their guitar skills, too.
Geoffroy Sardin, Chief Marketing and Sales Officer at Ubisoft EMEA is “thrilled” with the results:
These studies confirm our view that Rocksmith is a huge success at teaching players real guitar skills that are highly effective, enjoyable and will last them a lifetime.
There are some interesting numbers thrown in with the statement, too: 1.4 million copies sold, 132,000 guitars bought as a result of Rocksmith in 2011 (that is, 14% of all electric guitar sales), 3 million songs downloaded, 112 billion notes played and – wait for it – an estimated 1.6 million blisters on gamers’ fingers.
…and while we haven’t heard much from the title for a while now, Ubisoft slipped a little teaser into their stats-filled message: There will be some “exciting” Rocksmith news on show at E3. Stay tuned!
