Insomniac has some big plans to follow Fuse

Co-petitive shooter Fuse has launched today in the United States (we’ve still got a little wait before it hits Australian shores), and Insomniac boss Ted Price couldn’t be prouder of his new baby. At the same time, he hints that the development team is “just getting started”.

We’ve already begun expanding what we’ve begun with Fuse. Right now as I write this we’re taking the core concepts behind Fuse and prototyping new stuff…stuff that leverages this bizarre alien substance which is at the heart of the game. No, I’m not talking about DLC. I’m talking about new Fuse experiences altogether.

Price steps onto the virtual soapbox in a new blog post on the game’s official site, where he also discusses a little about the seemingly sudden change in direction from Overstrike to Fuse.

What’s wonderful about creating and owning one’s IP is that you can take it any direction you want. And that’s what we’re going to do. Stay tuned!

Fuse hits Australia and Europe on May 31st, for PS3 and Xbox 360 – if you want to know more, check out our preview, or maybe our feature on Player Attack TV!
