Bungie not ruling out Destiny for PC

Bungie‘s Next Big Thing, the MMO/shooter extravaganza of Destiny has been confirmed for PlayStation 3, PlayStation 4, Xbox 360 and Xbox One, but – surprisingly for a game of this genre – there seems to be no PC version on the cards. That said, Bungie just might not have made its mind up yet.

A recent interview with IGN sees Bungie senior writer Eric Osborne pondering, “We haven’t said yes, and we haven’t said no.”

The more platforms we take on, the more work it ultimately becomes, and what we don’t want is to compromise the core experience on any platforms. We have a lot of people who play on PCs. We have a lot of appetite to build that experience. We haven’t announced it yet, but we’re looking forward to talking more about that kind of stuff in the future.

The next part of that message suggests that if Destiny were to end up on PC, then the chances of save-games being cross-platform compatible is also pretty high. Not that the team’s put much thought into it all, of course.

The official message might be convoluted and not terribly clear, but it does show that Bungie is listening… and if you squint, it suggests that the studio is far from ignoring its PC fanbase. Stay tuned, we think there’s more announcements yet to come for Destiny.
