We’ve also now seen the first trailer for Call of Duty: Ghosts, after a six-second teaser and three weeks of speculation. With the reveal placed at the conclusion of the Xbox One announcement, it’s unsurprising that the new military shooter is indeed linked pretty closely to the new Microsoft console.
If you want to watch the brand new trailer, it’s tucked away in our file library. We’ve also got this behind-the-scenes look at the game, which features everybody’s favourite new character: The motion-captured German Shepherd.
Call of Duty: Ghosts is set in an all-new world, with an original story and characters. It’s powered by an all-new gameplay engine (finally!), and has even gone so far as to bring an Academy-award winning screenwriter to add a certain somethin’ somethin’ to the script. Stephen Gaghan, the man behind Steven Soderbergh’s Traffic, has stepped up to the plate – and while we haven’t heard too many details about that one yet, we’re expecting plenty in the weeks to come.
While not going so far as to announce a full exclusivity deal, Ghosts is set to continue Activision‘s timed arrangement, which will see all DLC arriving on the Xbox platform before it hits anywhere else. The choice of wording suggests that, perhaps, the Xbox 360 is lumped in on that deal, too.
No further specifics have been revealed – we don’t know if this is the extent of the exclusivity arrangement, or if there are more bits and pieces still to come – but for now, it sounds like things are working out pretty much as we’d expected.
