Total War: Rome 2 looks set to receive a bunch of new content – before the game’s even hit shelves. An Italian retailer uploaded details of a brand new “Culture Pack” DLC: Three Greek States, available for free to anyone who pre-orders the game.
A simple Google translation of the Italian description reads:
The Culture Pack adds the diplomatic Athens Greek states, the smart Epirus and formidable Sparta as playable factions. Each offers a variety of special tactical skills, culture and arts ,and special units lethal to crush enemies and to achieve victories in battle.
The Greek States share a number of common objectives, philosophies and diplomatic aid. However, they are characterized by their fierce independence and between them show a huge variety of approaches to the challenges of civilian and military which often leads them to be in conflict with each other and the rest of the world.
If, for whatever reason, you’re not keen on pre-ordering, you won’t automatically miss out on Athens, Epirus and Sparta. Instead, it seems you’ll just have to buy the pack separately, when it arrives on September 3rd.
Developer Creative Assembly is keeping quiet on the topic, with spokesperson Craig Laycock posting one simple image:
Whether the numbers are a date (May 9th? Tomorrow?), or a reference to Julius Caesar (“Alea iacta est” = “The die has been cast”), I’d say we should hear something official about this new Total War Rome 2 content very soon.
