It has been a long six months since we were formally introduced to Sir Painhammer, but today Ubisoft has unveiled the first gameplay trailer for The Mighty Quest for Epic Loot, the asynchronous dungeon crawler on the way from Ubisoft Montreal.
You have been dropped into the middle of an “outrageous medieval fantasy world” – Opulencia. Status is everything, wealth is power, and looting is just what you do to get there. Take a walk through the grounds with Sir Painhammer, learning about the fundamentals of this way of life.
We still don’t really know much about The Mighty Quest for Epic Loot, except that it’s (presumably still) being designed for middle-range gaming PCs, so accessibility is the name of the game.
It’s a dungeon crawler with a twist – you can, effectively, play as the dungeon. Well, the dungeon planner anyway. Take a bunch of tiles and make your own building, complete with monsters and enemies. Then, invite unassuming Facebook contacts, random players or real-world friends into your new building, and watch them get slaughtered.
At the same time, you’re being invited into their castles, and trying not to get slaughtered.
The more castles you build, the more cool stuff you can use to build the next one. The more castles you raid (and do not get slaughtered in), the more equipment and abilities you’ll unlock. It’s all intertwined, my friends. Can’t wait.
