Officially, her new title is the very awesome “Developer’s Best Friend”, and that’s just what she intends to become:
OUYA gets it. This is the first console company that really understands how important it is to remove the barriers to development. By freeing up the development process, OUYA is opening up new doors in console gaming.
The news comes on the same day that Ouya has announced that its self-titled console will begin shipping to backers on March 28th. If you didn’t get in on the Kickstarter campaign, then bad luck: You’ll have to wait until June to get your hands on the new, $99 Android-based games machine.
Company CEO Julie Uhrman explains that “parts are in the factory and assembly lines are buzzing”.
If you are an Ouya backer on Kickstarter, keep an eye out – an email is headed your way shortly with a tracking number and an estimated delivery date. While this is all happening, it’s also at the perils of the postal service, so don’t hold your breath. Your console will get there when it gets there.
