Assassin's Creed III: Washington Edition spotted

We started seeing hints of Assassin’s Creed III: Washington Edition popping up last week, to the point where it was included in our vidcast, but we still had no confirmation that it was actually happening. Now, while Ubisoft is still remaining tight-lipped on this special DLC-inclusive bundle, a German retailer or two seems to have spilled the beans.

It looks like Assassin’s Creed III: Washington Edition is indeed a real thing, headed our way (or at least, Germany’s way) on March 28th for PC, PS3 and Xbox 360. It bundles up the original Assassin’s Creed III with all of the so-far-released downloadable content for the game, for those of us who aren’t keen on the actual download part of that equation.

That means, if this is all correct, that you’ll receive the following:

  • The Hidden Secrets pack: Three new missions (including Mayan Ruins), two multiplayer characters, two new outfits
  • The Battle Hardened pack: New maps, three new multiplayer characters
  • The Tyranny of King Washington: The big one: Three additional, single-player, alternate-reality bits – transform into a wolf, a bear and an eagle – and summon invisible wolves.

In case you just checked the calendar, March 28th is before the Tyranny DLC is fully released. Don’t get excited, you don’t get the jump on your online colleagues. Instead, the DLC will unlock as usual, thanks to the Assassin’s Creed III Season Pass.

…it’s also important to note that the last bundle like this – Assassin’s Creed Anthology – did not see a release in North America, popping up only in Africa, the Middle East, and Europe.
