Following the announcement that Ubisoft was delaying the Wii U release of Rayman Legends to line up with the PS3 and Xbox 360 versions later in the year, conspiracy theorists ran wild. Before we knew it, rumours were flying that Michel Ancel, Rayman’s disgruntled creator, was leaving the studio he’d called home for two decades.
As unhappy as he might be, Ubisoft has quickly denied any stories of Ancel’s departure, with spokesperson Pascal Lecointe calling the claims “Unfounded rumours!”.
Michel is currently working on Rayman Legends, a unique game that will be released on Wii U, Xbox 360 and PS3. Michel Ancel and Ubisoft therefore categorically deny these rumours.
Ancel has been photographed protesting the game’s delay, and was apparently less than pleased by the publisher’s decision.
Rayman Legends, for PS3, Xbox 360 and Wii U, is due out in early September 2013.
