Is no news really good news when it comes to The Last Guardian? It’s been so long since we heard anything about the game, many of us had decided it was – sadly – dead and buried, forgotten in development limbo. Today though, creator Fumito Ueda has broken the silence, offering an interesting, positive statement to anybody who’ll listen.

Despite it being a “long time coming”, Ueda-san wants to reassure gamers that The Last Guardian is under his creative supervision, and has an incredibly talented development team slaving away at it.
While that’s comforting news, Ueda-san is less than forthcoming with details on the game’s actual release, hinting that we may hear something in the not-so-distant future:
I should also mention that details regarding THE LAST GUARDIAN’s release is solely decided by Sony Computer Entertainment, not myself. Please keep an eye out for their official announcement.
Moving forward, it is my intent to continue my involvement with THE LAST GUARDIAN project, as well as pursue new creative projects with a fresh perspective. As I rekindle my passions as a creator, I look forward to seeing where it will take me, and I deeply appreciate your support during this transition.
