While Star Wars: The Old Republic is free-to-play, BioWare and LucasArts have always packed in a bunch of content that can be purchased with real-world money. Now, through a partnership with BOKU, you have an all-new way to pay for that pretty coloured light-saber.

Simply put, you can pay for your game via your mobile phone! BOKU has introduced a feature where you can send an SMS and receive 450 Cartel Coins – the virtual currency used in SW:TOR. Your carrier may add a fee to this transaction, but aside from that, it’s as simple as sending a text.
It’s only available in a limited number of countries at the moment, but if you’re in Germany, France, Taiwan, South Korea, Brazil, Turkey, Poland, Russia, Ukraine, Czech Republic, Norway, Sweden, Belgium, Hungary, Spain, Australia, or The Netherlands, you’re in luck!
Don’t fret if you’re not in those locations: BioWare promises it “will look for opportunities to expand to other countries”, as well as continuing to explore other, additional billing options for customers around the world. For more information, or to pick up a few Cartel Coins, head to the SW:TOR online store.
