Sony Computer Entertainment is planning something big for February 20th. That’s Thursday the 21st in Australia, which also happens to be the date that a new-look Sony console will go on sale. While it’s not quite the fabled PlayStation 4, it’s still something a bit tempting if you haven’t quite gotten around to snagging a PlayStation 3 in the six years its been available.
Two new semi-precious colours, Azurite Blue and Garnet Red, are set to hit Australian shores in two weeks, with the designs joining the traditional Piano Black console. Internationally, the colourway is also available in Japan, with Europe and other territories jumping on the bandwagon later this month.
The hardware specs for these pretty coloured platforms varies from territory to territory, but in Australia, both the Azurite Blue and Garnet Red builds come with two colour-coordinated controllers and a nice clean 500GB hard drive, all ready for your savegames and installs. (In other parts of the world, the consoles come with a 250GB model – please check with your local retailer.)
Both are available for a limited time only, so if you’ve been hanging out for a splash of colour for your loungeroom, better act fast.
