Capcom addresses Monster Hunter 4 Vita rumours

The 3DS version of Monster Hunter 4 has recently been delayed, frustrating the game’s fans and starting up an intriguing rumour-mill. Could this latest rendition of the series be coming to PlayStation Vita as well as Nintendo‘s handheld?

Monster Hunter might not have taken off quite as much in the West as it has in its homeland of Japan, but it’s still the sort of game that can breathe new life into a flagging console. Bringing it to 3DS makes perfect sense, but surely the Vita’s struggling just as much…

Unfortunately, Capcom Senior Vice President Christian Svensson has all-but squished the rumour before it had enough time to get properly started, in an eloquent response on the Capcom forums:

I would not believe everything you read on the internet. It will set you up for disappointment or misdirected frustration.

We understand the irony of posting that comment on a website, but stick with us. Svensson’s comments follow similar sentiments posted in December, when he shut down the rumoured version of Monster Hunter 4 for Wii U.

At this point in time, in Svensson’s own words, Monster Hunter 4 is “still only for 3DS” – but there’s nothing to say that won’t change some time in the future!
