No pre-launch demo for Tomb Raider

Crystal Dynamics is working on one of the most eagerly-anticipated games of the year, and the studio isn’t going to let you play it until it’s good and ready. That’s right: No demo release for Tomb Raider – if you want it, you’ll have to wait for retail.

Tomb Raider global brand director Karl Stewart explained on Twitter:

We’ve weaved such an personal story we don’t believe spoiling it by having you wait a week or so to play on, delivers on our promise.

Stewart also includes the curious detail that there will be no pre-launch demo for the game, clearly not ruling out the possibility of a sampler release after Tomb Raider hits shelves.

Meanwhile, Stewart took the opportunity to point out that Crystal Dynamics is not planning an Online or Season Pass for Tomb Raider either, which has surprised gamers following the recent multiplayer revelation.

Tomb Raider is set to hit shelves on March 5th, for PC, PS3 and Xbox 360. Want to know more? Take a look at our hands-on preview!
