Nintendo is yet to make any announcements about anthing involving multiplayer, and in fact still lists the number of players as “1” on the official website, another section on the same website tells a very different story.
With so many new places to explore, all new ways to capture ghosts, and a brand new local multiplayer mode, Luigi’s Mansion: Dark Moon is another star turn for Mario’s heroic brother—and it’s only on Nintendo 3DS.
We’re not sure quite what this local multiplayer will feature, whether it will be cooperative or competitive, or how many gamers will be able to jump in. The “brand new” statement has made some gamers surmise that it won’t simply be an asynchronous multiplayer feature as we’ve seen in Nintendo Land for Wii U, but others are still crossing their fingers that Luigi’s Mansion: Dark Moon becomes a sort of handheld alternative for the mini-game.
