Borderlands 2 dual-DLC pack headed to retail

Late last year, Gearbox released two shiny DLC packs for Borderlands 2. If, for whatever reason, you were unable to download either Captain Scarlett and Her Pirate’s Booty or Mr. Torgue’s Campaign of Carnage, the Australian Classification Board suggests that help may soon be at hand, rating a dual-pack of goodies headed for retail release.

With all of the appropriate capitalisation, BORDERLANDS 2 EXPANSION PACK – CAPTAIN SCARLETT AND HER PIRATE’S BOOTY AND MISTER TORGUE’S CAMPAIGN OF CARNAGE has been considered suitable for Australian gamers over the age of 15, and you can blame the “strong” violence for that one (there’s also moderate themes, language and sexual references, mild drug use and a little bit of nudity, if you’re interested).

While this seems to be the first we’ve heard about the project, the move isn’t terribly surprising. It neatly follows the tradition set by the original Borderlands, with The Zombie Island of Dr Ned and Mad Moxxi’s Underdome Riot also released at retail in 2010.

Aussie gamers have been keeping a close eye on the Classification Board recently, following the R18+ classification coming into full effect. While this isn’t quite the Adults Only bombshell we’ve been holding our collective breaths for, it’s still a pretty nifty little reveal.
