Indie darling Fez has been picking up accolades all over the place, but a significant chunk of gamers have been unable to experience its award-winning goodness simply because the game was only released on Xbox 360. In 2013, developer Phil Fish says that’s all about to change.
In a New Years Eve blog post, Fish explains:
2012 was crazy.
But what now?
2013 is going to be an interesting one, too.
For one, FEZ will finally be ported to other platforms.
Yes, i’ve heard you, dozens of people emailing me everyday telling me how much of an idiot i am for not porting FEZ to everything.
Unfortunately, it’s not all good news for fans of Fish, Fez and developer Polytron. After the departure of his colleagues, Polytron is back to being a one-man show with Fez at the helm, and he’s reportedly unsure about where exactly to go with that.
He mentions “a couple of new games in the pipeline”, and a desire to keep designing, but also hints that the future of Polytron may feature something other than video games. Stay tuned.
