Everything old is new again, etc etc, and today’s undeniable illustration of that fact comes via everybody’s favourite little green-haired dudes, Lemmings, currently lining up for a reboot for PlayStation Mobile!
The new game is in the works at d3t (designing, developing, delivering technology), with Commercial Director Jaime Campbell telling PlayStation.Blog that the studio was a little overwhelmed by the invitation to revisit the classic franchise.
At d3t, we always go the extra mile to deliver the best possible games, so we knew we were the right people for the job. But it’s not every day you get asked to work on a title with a name that resonates with multiple generations of gamers who have enjoyed playing existing versions of the game on numerous gaming systems since it was first published by Psygnosis for the Commodore Amiga in 1991.
The new game – Lemmings for PlayStation Mobile has been designed to work on “all of the certified devices” as well as PlayStation Vita, and whether you’re a long-term fan of the game or a newcomer to the series, it’s everything you’d expect – plus touch-screen controls!

Campbell goes on to explain that not only is it a great game for gamers, it’s also a good thing to check out for developers, too.
Working on a title with such history and nostalgia attached to it did make us deliver on our promise to go the extra mile to produce a top-quality game and we always felt we were working with the SDK rather than fighting against it. I recommend that anyone interested in developing games or apps for mobile devices go and check out PlayStation Mobile!
Lemmings for PlayStation Mobile is available right now, and you get 30 levels absolutely free! Quick! March!
