Western fans of JRPGs, listen up, this one’s for you. Starting this week, the demo version of Ni no Kuni: Wrath of the White Witch will be available for you to check out via the PlayStation Network. Specifically, you want to fire up your console on December 4th if you’re in North America, and on the 5th if you operate on more European timeframes.
Put together by clever folks at Level-5, and with animations and cut-scenes produced by the legendary Studio Ghibli, Ni no Kuni is truly a sight to behold. And it doesn’t sound too shabby either: Joe Hisaishi contributed the unique and beautiful music to the game.
But what’s it all about? Ni no Kuni: Wrath of the White Witch tells the story of young Oliver, who is on a quest to save his mother. His journey has taken him to another world, where he must make new friends and tame wonderful creatures in order to become a wizard.
The demo itself features two different levels – and two corresponding bosses: Moltaan and Guardian of the Woods. Oliver’s collection of tamed, trained creatures come into their own, battling it out with these formidable enemies.
If you enjoy the sample version on offer this week, you’ll love the full game: Ni no Kuni: Wrath of the White Witch is due out on January 24th, exclusively for PlayStation 3.
