According to the images, players
will see* can choose a personalised background location from Forgotten Realms locales such as Luskan, Neverwinter, Baldur’s Gate, Amn, Cormyr, Myth Drannor, Netheril and more.
In terms of races, the screenshots detail seven: Drow, Dwarf, Elf, Half-Elf, Halfling, Human and Tiefling. Traditionally most FR games have included half-orcs in the playable races, but it doesn’t seem Neverwinter will do the same–sorry, tusk-lovers!
Finally, the screenshots reveal four of the five classes in Neverwinter: the Guardian Fighter, the Devoted Cleric, the Trickster Rogue and the Control Wizard. Each class gives players a different costume unique to each race, though overall there doesn’t seem to be a lot of colour in said costumes.
In fact, overall the colourscheme looks relatively drab, with lots of browns and blacks. Luckily, if previous screenshots are any indication once you get into the game itself things liven up a bit!
