Well, maybe not so massively affected, but at least some Black Ops II users are experiencing a rather odd problem when attempting to install the game to their Xbox 360 harddrives. According to player reports on the interwebs, some copies of Call of Duty: Black Ops II have actually shipped with one CD of Black Ops II, and one CD of… wait for it… Mass Effect 2.
Right. So, it’s unlikely that this is an issue originating with the publisher, since obviously EA published Mass Effect 2 and Activision published Black Ops II, so chances are it’s a manufacturer’s issue.
If you are having this issue, there is a code on the game box that you can use to download the game via Xbox Live. Still, it’s not all bad–it doesn’t seem to be a widespread issue, so chances are your copy won’t be affected. Hopefully. Fingers crossed.
UPDATE: BioWare has just updated the company blog, and it seems they’re as amused as we are:
If you were one of the affected, chances are you thought it was a mistake, but we prefer to think that it was an omen, and when the universe talks, you should listen.
Apparently the first 50 people to send in a picture of themselves next to the screen with the error, with Disc 2 in their hand will receive a code to download the Mass Effect Trilogy PC completely free.
