If you’d been planning on picking up a Kinect sensor any time soon, you might like to hang on for just a little while longer. Microsoft has officially announced a decent price drop for the motion-sensing peripheral, which affects North America, Latin America, Asia Pacific and – hooray! – Australia and New Zealand.
The official price drop sees US$40 knocked off of the North American price, making a Kinect retail for the recommended price of US$109.99 in the United States. This is a permanent change, which we expect to see mirrored all over the place.
The Australia/New Zealand price adjustment is still a little while off, hitting shelves on October 4th – and at this point, we don’t know how much will be taken off the price.
And while we’re celebrating, spare a thought for folks in Europe, the Middle East and Japan – there are no price drop plans for those regions at this time. Aw.
